With the Rock Werchter Festival just four days away, here are my top 5 songs of last week. I am on my vacation until next monday, so enjoy your week everybody.
1. Honesty – Editors
The closer of their set. What a great song. I saw it live last monday and can’t wait for the performance on sunday.
2. Take Aim – Kasabian
No Werchter act here, but one of my favourite Kasabian songs. Sergio at his best.
3. Morning Glory – Oasis
You definitely have to listen to Oasis every now and then. This was my Oasis song of last week.
4. Conscience Killer – Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
What a song! “I’m a son of the night, give a little room and I spit in your eye!”
5. Dakota – Stereophonics
A true classic. I will see them on saturday. Yes!
Awesome, overwhelming, fantastic…there are no words to describe their show from last night. This was simply perfection. Just 300 people in a little club. Everyone of them excited to see the Editors and listen to new tracks, as well as good old classics.
The new songs were great. “Sugar”, “A Ton Of Love”, “Nothing” (played in an acoustic version), “Two Hearted Spider”, “Honesty”,…
The well known tracks were stunning too. “Bones”, “An End Has A Start”, “Eat Raw Meet – Blood Drool”, “Papillon”, “Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors”, “Racing Rats”,…
With their new album “The Weight Of Your Love” coming out friday, the Editors are well prepared for more great concerts. After some festival gigs, the band will be on tour later this year. Go and get a ticket, as this band is a must see! You can watch the whole gig via Tape TV. Just click on the link. Scroll down for some pics I was able to take.
The sold out, exclusive showcase for the Editors’ new album “The Weight Of Your Love”, will be streamed live via their official youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/editorsofficial.
I’m one of 300 lucky people, who has a ticket. I’ll write a review the next days, right here at specteratthefeast.wordpress.com, so check back.
Without any further talking, my top 5 songs of the past 7 days. Here we go:
1. Giving Up The Gun – Vampire Weekend
Always gets me in a good mood. Great song from their second album “Contra” and a fantastic video. Jake Gyllenhaal, priceless!
2. A Ton Of Love – Editors
Can’t wait to see Tom perform this song live. “I lit a match in Vienna tonight, it caused a fire in New York!”
3. Start Of Something Big – Miles Kane
I wrote it in my post yesterday. At his gig in Berlin, Miles told the audience “This is for the gentlemen I met outside”. In this case “the gentlemen” were my friends and I.
4. The Universal – Blur
Every now and then I have to watch the epic Hydepark concert of 2009. What a song, what a band and what a crowd.
5. Tonight – Miles Kane
Another Miles Kane song here. I had to prepare for his gig, so I think it’s excusable. Unfortunately he didn’t play it, but for me it’s one of the best songs of “Don’t Forget Who You Are”.
The Editors just released the video of their brand new song called “The Weight”. The track will be on their forthcoming album “The Weight Of Your Love”.
In my opinion it’s another high quality song and I’m really excited about the new album, which will be released on 1st of July. After listening to the first single “A Ton of Love” and the songs “Sugar”, “Nothing” and “Two Hearted Spider”, I think the Album has to be awesome.
