Top 5 songs of last week

With the start of a new week, here are my top 5 songs of last week.

1. Fire – Kasabian

I watched a part of their set from this years “Hurricane Festival” on tv, and there is nothing other to say then Kasabian being the best live band on this planet!

2. It’s No Good – Depeche Mode

Great lyrics, great sound and Dave Gahan’s voice…

3. Weight Of The World – Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

What a great song by one of the most underestimated bands around.

4. Rattlesnake Highway – Palma Violets

One of the great newcomers last year. In my opinion the best song from their debut album “180”.

5. Wheels – Foo Fighters

I love this song so much and everybody has to love the Foo Fighters! Two years ago I saw this performance live and it was just amazing.

New Black Rebel Motorcycle Club video for “Hate The Taste”

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have published a new video for the song “Hate The Taste” from their lastest album “Specter At The Feast”. In my opinion this is not even on of the best tracks on their album, but one of the best they ever recorded. I love this song.

So don’t hesitate to check out their homepage http://blackrebelmotorcycleclub.com to watch the video.

Ben Howard @ Zitadelle Spandau, Berlin 19.06.2013

33 °C,  sunshine, a superb open air location and Ben Howard on stage. Sounds like a sureshot, doesn’t it? Well, let’s see…

First of all I’ve to say, it was a nice concert, but not a gig for the ages. We arrived at the Zitadelle about 19:15, when the support act John Smith was allready playing. After we grabbed something to eat and some beers, he had just finished his set, so I can’t say anything about him.

After a little break Ben Howard went on stage and started with “Everything”, “Black Flies” and “Old Pine”. The two best parts of the show were “Only Love” followed by “The Wolves” and the last two songs “Keep Your Head Up” and “The Fear”. Maybe Ben should have saved one of these for the encore, because in my opinion the three bonus songs were not that strong.

Summarized it was a nice concert. Ben Howard is a great singer/songwriter and the whole open air gig gave me a nice festival feeling.

NME.com presents “Liam Gallagher’s 75 most hilarious one-liners”

NME.com published a photo gallery with Liam’s top quotes. Clicking through all the 75 one-liners is without any doubt worth it.

Here is my favourite:

On being a softie at heart: “I am a tender, beautiful and loving guy that happens to slap a photographer now and then because they get in my way.” (Sky.com, July 2005).

Ben Howard concert preparation

With the Ben Howard concert just two days away, I need to get prepared. For me it will be the first time to see the London based singer/songwriter/surfer. I’m very excited about the gig and will let you know, if Ben Howard was able to meet my expectations.

Check out the video below for the full “T in the Park 2012” gig.
